A long lens is the secret with foals; I stay a good distance away so as not to disturb them...and wait.

 

  
 This little cat just played to the lens

 
 Oh!!!  
 These guys were no trouble...  
   
 Come on rodent...make my day!  
 The foal had got used to me by now, so I was able to move in a little and catch the sunlight on her coat  
   
 Until the camera needed a real close inspection....  
 Long lens again, short depth of field to make the subject stand out...and patience  
That's just cute!  
 No hurry here  
 And then we got hungry!  
   
 I'd edit out that head collar strap before printing this; just the end that's dangling  
 I don't charge for local visits: I'll just bring a camera and laptop and take pictures. You can see them on the computer screen immediately, and buy any that you like. There's absolutely no obligation. For horses, bookings can be re-arranged if the weather is inclement. There is no point in photographing a soggy horse on a grey day!
